SURGERY OPENING TIMES

Both surgeries are open between the hours of 8am to 6.30pm, with a range of appointments times.

The partners are also offering commuter surgeries, aimed specifically at those who cannot easily get time off work to attend during normal surgery appointments. These commuter surgeries are held on:

Tuesday evenings 6.30 to 8.30pm

Friday mornings 7am to 8am

The commuter surgeries are staffed by GPs from the practice working on a rota basis. Therefore there will sometimes be a male GP and sometimes a female GP. Please check when booking an appointment.

These commuter clinics are just held at Park End Surgery premises at Bridgewater House. The surgery will be open for collection of prescriptions, or patients handing in correspondence for a GP. Please note however that these extended hours surgeries are NOT emergency surgeries, for which the Out-of-hours service remains responsible.

In addition to the regular sessions above, there are also monthly Saturday morning sessions (8-10.30am) held at Bridgewater House and twice monthly Wednesday evenings held at the Meriden site (6.30-8.30pm). Please speak to the Reception team at your normal surgery site for details of the exact date each month.

The surgeries’ telephone switchboards are closed at 6.30pm, after which time the answerphones are switched on. If you need to collect something from the surgery, such as an urgent prescription, and you think that you might not arrive in time, you must telephone the receptionists in advance. They have been instructed that they must only respond to a late request where it has been arranged with them in advance.

On the first Friday of each month, both surgeries are closed for staff training between 12.30 and 3pm (3.30pm at the Meriden). During this period, there will be a message on our answerphone that will tell you how you can contact the surgery in an emergency.
